Kassel. The need for fast Internet in Germany is steadily growing. According to the German Federal Network Agency, the number of fixed broadband connections in 2015 rose to 30.7 million, hence 1.1 million higher than the previous year. In light of this, WINGAS has set up a connection to a modern data center in Berlin completely with powerful fiber optic technology. For the connection to the e-shelter data center, WINGAS laid fiber optic cables, thus equipping the location with the fast transmission medium.

Since March, WINGAS has now been able to provide its customers with fiber optic capacities at another part of the capital. "Through the connection to the Berlin data center we can offer our customers attractive products locally. Networking throughout Germany is also possible, and at the same time we will extend the fiber optic market toward Northern and Eastern Europe," as Jürgen Alberti, the responsible project manager at WINGAS explains.
